Happy Birthday to our sweet Naomi! On March 30th we celebrated Naomi's first birthday. We had a great day as a family; going to the zoo, opening cards and presents from family and friends, eating birthday cake and taking a stroll in the wagon with her birthday balloon! It was wonderful to reflect back over the past year of her life and ours a family. This is a very special time in my life because I'm doing what I always dreamed of doing...being a mom...and I absolutely LOVE it. One thing I've experienced as a mom is how sweet each stage of life is. When I first had Naomi I was scared that I was having the best time of my life with her and I didn't think it could possibly get any better. But IT DOES!! I still think to myself "I love this stage the best" (cute cooeing sounds, smiling, playing, walking, etc.) but it just keeps getting better! I hope it continues like this through all of her life.

I am so thankful to have the opportunity to stay home with her. We enjoy being outside together, taking walks in the wagon, sliding at the park and gardening in the yard. Almost every night we walk or go to the park as a family after dinner. Naomi still LOVES to read books. I am starting to work with her on recognizing certain things (balls, dogs, foods) in the stories we read. She is walking everywhere now and loves to be independent. She is starting to get the hang of going down the stairs on our deck and she can follow directions really well. She takes her diapers to the trash, she goes to her crib and waits when I tell her "night, night time", she goes to the bathroom when I tell her "time to take a bath" and she goes to the door and turns the knob if I say "let's go outside"!

We are in LOVE with this little girl and think she is so cute! But that's just because we are her mommy and daddy. We are thankful for a healthy and happy first year of life with her. God has blessed us richly with His love by giving us someone else to love so much.
